FNPS Mangrove Chapter August 25, 2018 Field Trip

The public is invited to join Trail Guide, Al Squires, for a leisurely walk along the Jeep Trail on Saturday, August 25 from 9 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Cedar Point Environmental Park. Walkers will meet at the Visitors Center at 9 a.m.
Cedar Point is Charlotte County’s flagship environmental park and protects 115 acres of a peninsula in Englewood along Lemon Bay. It has a broad range of habitat diversity and wildlife sightings along its trail system. The park is located at 2300 Placida Rd in Englewood.
DIRECTIONS: From US 41 in North Port, follow River Rd south to Englewood. Take Pine St south to SR 775 (Placida Rd), and soon after crossing SR 776, watch for the park entrance on the right. There are two parking areas: one just inside the preserve entrance and another near the Visitor Center.

The Mangrove Chapter is one of 37 FNPS Chapters throughout Florida and meets the second Tuesday of each month from October through April. At each meeting a program on natural history, landscaping with native plants, or other similar topic is presented. Field trips are the last Saturday of each month except for December. Field trips, meetings and other FNPS activities are free and open to everyone.
