Welcome to Englewood.
It is with great honor that I serve as the president of the Englewood Chamber of Commerce this year. Englewood is located in both Sarasota and Charlotte County, a unique situation that provides us the opportunity of leveraging the resources from each county. When I first joined the chamber in 2003, I was intrigued by the extraordinary spirit of service and dedication that was central to this chamber and community. Today that spirit and energy is still very much alive and is what this chamber is all about. My hope is that you become aware, share, and take full advantage of the many treasures that the Englewood community has to offer.
You can explore the best of Florida in Englewood. We’ve got spectacular beaches, fun water sports, shark teeth hunting, swimming, or you can just simply relax under the warm sunshine and watch the dolphins swim by. We have a long history of being a fishing community for both the skilled and novice anglers alike. And there are so many different opportunities to explore our backwaters and intercoastal waterways — by boat, jet ski, canoe, paddle board or kayak. We know you’ll love it here no matter what your age is.
We’ve got some wonderful activities inland too- like our diverse natural parks, farmers markets, quaint shopping on Dearborn Street, and superb restaurants. Throughout the year we’ve got special events like “Let’s Eat, Englewood”, which is our annual restaurant week, and then there are art festivals, monthly car cruises, and the OPA Championship Powerboat races.
It is the spirit and sense of service that drives this community and helps make Englewood great. Our chamber is thriving, and under the leadership of our Executive Director, Ed Hill, we have a spectacular group of volunteers committed to getting to know anyone who comes to Englewood, whether you are here for a day, a week or a lifetime.
Welcome to our area and we sincerely hope you enjoy your time with us.
