Keep The Momentum Moving in May
This month is all about momentum. Businesses are preparing for ways to stay steady in the summer months and community members are eager to get involved, and the Chamber is proud to offer a full calendar of networking events, traditions, and opportunities designed to help our local businesses not only survive but thrive.
Freedom Boat Club will host Brew Crew this Wednesday, May 6th at their newest location -779 West Wentworth from 8-9am. Come mix & mingle, do some business before business and make new connections to help grow your business. The following week, we will have some “Fun After 5” at the home of The Sand Dollar Team and Sip Sip Hooray Café on Dearborn Street. Enjoy a “Fiesta Theme” with help from B& B Elite Home Services, Rowley Insurance, Mark Knauf CPA, Vino Loco and Eastern Bank Mortgage. Don’t miss this opportunity to spark partnerships, share ideas, and strengthen the connections that make our business community so special. This month’s Biz@Noon will be held at first time host Magnolia’s on the Bay on May 20th. Seats are limited so register on our website to guarantee your attendance.
May also brings an honored tradition, The Smoked Mullet and Legends Awards Luncheon. This year’s event will be held at Boca Royale Golf & Country Club on Friday, May 15th beginning at Noon. Hear stories and share laughs with old and new friends. Registration is open on our website at EnglewoodChamber.Com. Who will be this year’s Smoked Mullet? Join us for this fun tradition to find out. Still looking for another networking opportunity? No problem. We have a joint mixer planned with the Boca Grande Chamber on May 21st at the Boca Grande Historical Society from 5-7pm. Join us for double the networking in a beautiful setting and learn about the preservation of the heritage of the island.
We are excited to honor Mercier CPA Associates, PA as Monday’s Milestone Member. This second-generation business has been a Chamber member for 50 years! Since their inception, they have offered a full range of accounting, tax, and small business services. The firm focuses on your unique tax and accounting needs. Owner Julia Mercier worked side by side her mom, Letetia (Tish) Mercier who started the company. Letetia was a past president of the Chamber.
For new members, May is the perfect time to get plugged in. There is no better way to maximize your membership than by attending events, meeting fellow professionals, and becoming an active part of the Chamber family. This quarter’s New Member Orientation Breakfast will be held at the Chamber on Wednesday, May 27th beginning at 8:30am. Thinking about joining the Chamber? You are welcome to attend the orientation to learn more about all the resources the Chamber offers to our members.
I encourage you to take advantage of this busy and exciting month. Attend an event, invite a colleague, support a local business, and be part of the traditions that make our Chamber and community so vibrant. Here’s to hoping this month is a”may”zing!

I have nothing less than gratitude and respect for the Englewood chamber of Commerce staff and members. They welcomed us with open arms when we moved here and opened our small business. We have since then expanded our business to business communications, vendors, clientele, community involvement and friendships. Who does that? The Englewood Chamber of Commerce does that! Thank you.

This is a great breakdown of the real value behind Chamber membership—especially the trust it builds within the local community. In a place like Englewood, where so many people are new to the area, that credibility really matters. We’ve seen the same on the land side here in Florida—people want to work with businesses they feel confident in. Appreciate you highlighting how much that local connection still counts: https://bubba-land.com/
