Time To Wrap It Up and Put a Bow on It…
It has been a bumpy road, but we made it to December…the last month of 2022. To say it’s been a smooth path would be a lie, but we have certainly survived and thrived, despite the pandemic, and Ian. I never liked that name and now I loathe it. Your Chamber of Commerce works hard for you. Yes, you. We are a membership organization that works to ensure the success of our members. Without a successful business sector, our community would cease to exist. Our business community provides jobs, services, products, supports tourism and the economy and creates events. So, by supporting the Chamber and our members, you are supporting your community, your town, your future. To be clear: Our mission statement reads… “Dedicated to Leading Economic Growth with a Balanced Voice between Local Businesses, Residents and Tourism that Creates Opportunities for our Community.”
We are proud to support the Charlotte County Toys for Tots again this year. We are a drop off location for new, unwrapped toys. Thank you to all that stopped by and donated last Friday during Tailored Inspection’s 4th Annual Toys for Tots Tailgate. Toys can still be dropped off until December 9th.
Our big scissors will be making an appearance twice this week. We invite you to an open house at the newly opened Englewood office of Roger D. Eaton, Charlotte County Clerk & Comptroller located at 6868 San Casa Blvd. at 5:30pm. We will also be snipping the ribbon Thursday at Apulia Osteria Italiana in Cape Haze. Festivities begin at 4:30pm. The new restaurant is located at 8501 Placida Road.
Christmas on Dearborn happens this Saturday from 4-9pm and includes a Holiday Parade on Wheels”. This free event is presented by the Dearborn Street Merchants and the Old Englewood Village Association.
Fun After 5 this month is going to be a huge celebration. It’s a holiday party to commemorate Thoroughbred Golf Carts 25th Anniversary, Wednesday, December 14th, 5-7pm. Expect food, drinks, a photo booth, and networking with other Chamber Members. We are also collecting for the Jubilee Center, so bring non-perishable foot items and/or new unwrapped toys. Expect a big party with food from Ken & Barb’s Grove City Kitchen courtesy of Wampler Varner Insurance Group, Mark Knauf’s famous sip n’ spirits, and festive photos with Dion Photography. Expect cake to celebrate…you can’t have a party without cake, right?
The following week, Nicola’s Italian Kitchen will be hosting our Biz@Noon networking luncheon on Wednesday, December 21st. This is always a fun time to support a local restaurant while promoting your business or club to 50 other Chamber members. Registration must be made online to guarantee your seat. You have to eat, so let’s make a date for later this month to chat and chew!
If you are looking to give your business a gift this holiday season, I highly recommend you join the Chamber. It’s the gift that keeps on giving all year! We provide many networking opportunities every month, along with several ways to get your message out there. From our website, social media, visitors center, community guide, area maps, digital billboard, event sponsorships, we have you covered! Let us help you in 2023. Join today and find out why we are “Seriously Fun Business”!
