Chamber Hires New Executive Director

The Englewood Florida Chamber of Commerce will begin 2021 with a new Executive Director.  Doug Izzo will officially begin his duties on January 8th.  The Chamber’s search committee recommended Izzo to the Executive Board after conducting interviews.  Izzo is a graduate of Lemon Bay High School and has family ties to Englewood.  He most recently was employed at the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce.   “Doug’s strong background and experience in Tourism and Government Affairs is going to be a great asset to our Chamber” said President Jonathan Varner.

President-Elect Brian Faro added, “I am super excited we were able to find a well-qualified candidate who has a history in the Englewood area! Doug’s love for the community is bringing him back home and we are looking forward to the experiences he brings from his extensive Chamber and community involvement in the Tampa Bay Area. Please join me in welcoming Doug Izzo back home to Englewood! I know Doug and Kim Parks will continue to lead this organization in the right direction and we are all looking forward to a successful 2021.”

Congratulations! We look forward to meeting you and working with you for a joint effort to improve the business community. At times, it’s a delicate balance between the growth of tourism and the enhancement of the lifestyles of both permanent and seasonal residents.
    Welcome back to Englewood.

Doug is an unbelievably hard working, whip smart, and dedicated leader. Tampa Bay has suffered a major loss! Good on you for bringing him home. Douglewood is the future ✊

I have had the pleasure of working with Doug through Chamber initiatives, both tourism and government related. He is professional, thorough and sensitive about the needs of the business community! He will be sorely missed but I wish him the very best and much success for the Englewood Chamber and business community!

Doug has not only been a fantastic advocate for business along the Tampa Bay beaches, but he’s also been a fierce defender of our environment and ocean health in which they rely. You’ll have a great leader in Doug!
