SOUTH VENICE — Sarasota County commissioners reviewed the successes of the Englewood Community Redevelopment Agency and took a look into its future………..

    • Implementation of a Sarasota County Area Transit Route to Englewood Beach on the Charlotte County side of Manasota Key………

The Englewood Florida Chamber of Commerce has taken the initiative to start a discussion on the coordination of Sarasota and Charlotte counties’ transit systems. However, advisory board member John Davison said SCAT doesn’t have to wait for a joint agreement with Charlotte. Davison told commissioners SCAT should consider running a bus route to the public Manasota Beach on the north end of the key and in Sarasota County.
“Not only will the bus run to the north beach, it will pass two large manufactured home communities,” Davison said. “You will be picking up additional (passengers), and that should make the bus people happy.”
