From coral reef research in Nicaragua π to serving as a Staff Biologist in Shark Research at Mote Marine Laboratory π¦, Armandoβs background spans continents and ecosystems. Heβs also served as a Mesoamerican Program Manager at LightHawk π¦
, working on marine conservation at a regional scale.
Armando holds a B.S. in Marine Sciences with a minor in Chemistry π§ͺ, and an M.S. in Marine Resource Management ππ. He has completed postgraduate courses in marine ecology, crocodile ecology π, and environmental impact assessment.
A Fulbright Scholar and recipient of the Hatfield Marine Science Centerβs Mamie Markham Research Award π , Armando was also a Global Fellow at the Duke University Marine Laboratory π. Now pursuing a Ph.D. at UFβs Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Department, he focuses his research on shark behavior and population structure π¦π¬.
