Meet experts in a variety of scientific fields as we explore the latest pioneering research in the ongoing effort to mitigate the impacts of the harmful algal bloom, red tide.
Topics will focus on the latest conditions, forecasting and current projects that are vital to SW Florida. The presenting forum panel includes Dr. Cynthia Heil, Senior Scientist and Director of Mote Marine Laboratory’s Red Tide Institute and Dr. Richard Pierce, Senior Scientist for Ecotoxicology and Associate Vice President for Research, Directorate of Environmental Health and Ocean Technology, at Mote Marine Laboratory, as well as Dr. Robert Weisberg, Retired-Emeritus, Distinguished Professor, College of Marine Science, Physical Oceanography at USF, and Director of the Coastal Ocean Modeling and Prediction System, COMPS, the Southeast Coastal Ocean Observing Regional Association, SECOORA and member of Southeastern Universities Research Association, SURA Coastal and Environmental Research Program, CERP.
