Wreaths Across America is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun by Maine businessman Morrill Worcester in 1991. The organization’s mission – Remember, Honor, Teach – is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in December in Arlington, as well as at more than 1,200 veteran’s cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond.
The Englewood Florida Chamber of Commerce is pleased to be collaborating with Wreaths Across America. To honor our area’s veterans. Our goal is to raise $15,000 which will ensure that a wreath will be laid at the headstone of each veteran in both Englewood cemeteries (Gulf Pines Memorial Park and Lemon Bay Cemetery). Ceremony begins at 12:00 pm. Please arrive by 11:00 am to help distribute the wreaths.
