“Office Hours”

For the fourth production of its 30th Season, the Lemon Bay Playhouse will present “Office Hours” by Norm Foster. This office environment based comedy, directed by Ralph and Marion Barnes, opens on January 18 and runs through February 12, 2017.

Ralph and Marion directed a production of Office Hours 11 years ago at the Lemon Bay Playhouse and they feel privileged to direct this wonderful comedy once again here. The play, which they feel is a sure audience pleaser, is as fresh, relevant and entertaining today as it was when they first did it. Norm Foster has created a rollercoaster comedy that sweeps you off your feet with memorable “one liners” (ala Neil Simon), a fascinating plot tied together with many little “clues”, and some of the most laugh producing characters you have ever met.

The Directors recount that Office Hours takes you on visits to offices in five tall buildings and a horse racing track in a modern Canadian city where you meet 17 very funny people struggling to cope with problems not at all uncommon to our society.

Ralph and Marion suggest that while attending the show that you “hang on as you meet an aging TV reporter feebly attempting to forestall a pending demotion, a movie producer about to hitch his star to a has-been movie director, a jockey unaware of his obvious problem, a philandering husband called to account for his misdeeds and other poor souls caught up in the web Norm Foster weaves. Oh, what fun it is!”

Plan to see this performance for an evening full of laughter and one wild ride in a madcap race towards quitting time. All of which will send the audience into uncontrolled laughter. This show runs for four weeks so there are many great seats available if you purchase your tickets soon.
