November 26 Field Trip, Mangrove Chapter FNPS
The Mangrove Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society will host their November field trip at Lemon Bay Park 570 Bay Park Blvd. Englewood. We hope you can join us on Saturday, November 26 to learn about native plants and wildlife, along with some interesting facts about the area ecology.
Lemon Bay Park includes 210 acres that showcase pine flatwoods, freshwater marshes, and the mangrove-lined shores of Lemon Bay off the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The park is located at
570 Bay Park Blvd in Englewood.
DIRECTIONS: From the junction of CR 776 and US 41 in Venice, drive south into Englewood. Turn right on Dearborn Street and drive west through old Englewood Village to Buchan’s Landing. Turn right at the stop sign. After 0.5 mile, make a left on Stuart Street. Drive 0.3 mile, turn right on Curtis Boulevard. Take the first left on Brengel Avenue, which leads into the park entrance. The trail guide will meet walkers at the entrance at 9 a.m.
