Learn How to Manage Your Pond

Please join the Mangrove Chapter, Florida Native Plant Society for a presentation on “Managing Wetland Areas in Our Communities”. Our guest speaker is Russ Hoffman, BA, MA, and trained Lake Manager, who manages Beautiful Ponds, providing all services pertaining to lake, pond, wetland and upland preserve care. Learn how selective removal of invasive exotics and use of native and other beneficial plants significantly increase biodiversity, improving wildlife habitat, bringing more birds, frogs and dragon flies. Other points of interest include algae and weed control, littoral zones, aquatic plants, water quality, erosion and biological plant control. For more information about wetland management practices, visit www.beautifulponds.com. For more information about Mangrove Chapter activities and events, visit mangrove.fnpschapters.org. Our meetings, field trips and special events are free and open to the public.
