Michael O’Donnell Memorial Fish-A-Thon

An Englewood Pioneer Days tradition returns again this year. Kids 12 and under can participate in the 5th Annual Michael O’Donnell Memorial Fish-A-Thon. The chairperson, Cathy Redman, believes strongly that every child should have a chance to learn to love fishing as her late son, Michael did.

The event will be held Sunday, August 31 at the Tom Adams Bridge. The event is free to kids aged 12 and under.

On-site registration begins at 7 AM on August 31. You do not have to be preregistered to attend, but participants must be accompanied by an adult. There will be a sign up table at the pier. At 8:00 Captain chris O’Neill will give a talk on “Fishing tips and safety.” Lines will go in the water at 8:15.

A copy of the registration form and rules are available at: www.EnglewoodPioneerDays.com. Experienced fishermen from across the community are pitching in to make this a great time for the younger ones.

At 10:30 PM awards will be given for the:Longest Fish, Shortest Fish, Ugliest Fish, Heaviest Fish, Most Unusual Catch, and, The Most Caught Fish.
